Quoth the Parrot Nevermore
Fire burning all around her and she could only carry one object to safety.
She grabbed the old Family Bible – but as she was heading to the door she heard the parrot "in a loud a solemn voice" cry out: "Good Lord, deliver us!"

What would you do?
According to the newspaper article, "The precious Bible was sacrificed and the bird saved" even though this particular parrot had a history of insulting visitors.
Too bad the parrot didn't quote Nathan Hale instead.
